Abstract

The article presents the author's viewpoints on the condition of the rural health and human services in the U.S. The author states that the health care sector is affected by the recession and the service providers are facing problems due to the cost of distance, relative disadvantage and the lack of economies of scale. He cites the effort of the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) to focus on the health and human services needs of those who are at risk.
