Abstract
Central nervous system manifestations are a common extrapulmonary complication of
Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection, of which encephalitis is a well-recognized abnormality in children. In this report the first description of
M. pneumoniae infection simultaneously complicated by meningoencephalitis and hemophagocytosis is presented.
