Abstract
Healthcare providers have a critical role in providing specialized reproductive healthcare to adolescents while addressing their unique needs with sensitivity and expertise. This case study highlights a particularly vulnerable patient: an adolescent cisgender female from a historically marginalized community who is currently in the U.S. foster care system. The scenario presents a unique and complex challenge, requiring the healthcare provider to balance patient autonomy with the responsibility of ensuring informed decision-making, while also reviewing standard prepregnancy recommendations applicable to all patients planning pregnancy.
