Abstract

The new cytotoxic naphthoquinone dimer kirschsteinin [5], two new chlorinated diphenyl ethers 8 and 9, three known naphthoquinone derivatives 1, 2, and 7, a monoacetyl derivative of 2, and the (-)-enantiomer of O-methylasparvenone [4], have been isolated from a previously undescribed species of Kirschsteiniothelia. The structures of these compounds were assigned primarily by nmr studies and by spectral comparisons. © 1992, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
