Abstract
36 undergraduates received a list of 3 word pairs where the 3 pairs were reinforced on an 80-20, 70-30, and 60-40 schedule, respectively. Response probability was shown to vary as a direct function of reinforcement probability. Results of sequential analyses indicate that the negative recency effects often found in studies of probability learning were reduced or eliminated with the present paradigm. Some response alternation tendencies were observed. Findings are discussed with respect to models of probability learning.
