Abstract
The present study was designed to address the important need of pairing reading and writing skills and studying the effect of reading instruction on early writing outcomes. [...]this study provides four important contributions to the literature. [...]we aimed to investigate whether students in this study would show experimental effects when provided less instructional time. Prior investigations involved eight instructional lessons, whereas we implemented only five lessons. [...]our work is a conceptual replication of prior research (Coyne et al., 2016). [...]we developed novel word lists for this study to test the effectiveness of the intervention procedures on a new set of words.
