Abstract
Most patients (97%) who have undergone a transoral-transpalatopharyngeal decompression of the ventral craniocervical border have also undergone dorsal stabilization of the craniocervical junction. Their postoperative management involves routine intensive care. Significant concerns about ventilator and respiratory care, antibiotic regimen, nutritional support, pain management, and immobilization make it advantageous to consider their immediate postoperative care from multiple perspectives. The authors share their mode of care for these patients, which has led to successful outcomes.
