Abstract
Why should the singing teacher read scientific papers in this and other journals? Because in reading and implementing evidence-based voice science, we can improve the quality of teaching and learning.1 But be forewarned: "2 This is as true today as it was four decades ago, and the volume of voice science literature is amazing: a Google Scholar search for the terms "singing" and "voice" yields over two million hits.3 The internet makes information readily available, but understanding and putting it into practice can be a challenge. [...]most importantly, the study's research purpose and questions, even though they can be very difficult sentences to compose, should nevertheless be stated clearly near the end of the introduction. How can one be sure that the authors were not biased in their data collection and interpretation?
