Abstract
•Disaster-related prenatal maternal stress was related to lower cognitive abilities in 30-month-old toddlers.•Disaster-related prenatal maternal stress was associated with better language abilities in 30-month-old boys.•While the mechanisms remain unknown, disaster-related prenatal maternal stress impacts early cognitive development in toddlers.
