Abstract
Reduction of a (bisphenyl)dithioacetal with sodium/isopropyl alcohol in THF allows preparation of (2 E,6 E)-10,11 -dihydrofarnesol in high yield. Selective reduction of a (bisphenyl)dithioacetal allows synthesis of (2 E,6 E)-10,11-dihydrofarnesol in high yield.
