Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has shuttered and shifted life, expectations, and priorities in dramatic ways. As many pendulum-tilting chapters in history have taught us, the arts help us react, evolve, recover, lead, focus, and heal. This article focuses on the intense scientific, medical, and engineering research one American institution undertook to ensure a safe return to music-making during the pandemic.
