Abstract
Lewis Yablonsky was a follower of J. L. Moreno, the founder of psychodrama, and he speaks of psychodrama with apostolic fervor. In the epilogue, Yablonsky describes Moreno's deathbed farewells to his followers, punctuated by raising his fist in a power salute. A scenario from Moreno's unpublished autobiography portrays his afterlife: After a heavenly debate on the values of psychoanalysis vs psychodrama, Freud (hitherto strangely quiet) acknowledges, "If I had lived longer, I too would most certainly have become a psychodramatist like Moreno."This book will probably not convert many others to become true believers, but it does convey an excitement about psychodrama that may be infectious. Its primary audience will be psychotherapists, particularly those interested in various forms of group therapy. Yablonsky describes the techniques of psychodrama clearly and convincingly.
