Quantitative error estimate in modeling the laminar stationary flow of a Bingham fluid

Abstract
We present a quantitative a posteriori error estimate when the linear laminar stationary flow of a Bingham fluid in a cylindrical pipe is modeled as a Newtonian fluid. The estimate is proved by using a complementary variational principle for the Bingham fluid flow. Examples show that the estimate is effective.
