Abstract
The coupling of semiconductor quantum wells (QW) with arbitrary periodicity by light is discussed. A light pulse resonant with exciton resonance scatters with exciton resonance as well as the several resonances associated with the eigenmodes. Study of the resonant Rayleigh scattered (RRS) light showed that at Bragg periodicity where all eigenmodes are optically inactive except the superradiant mode, RRS is strongly suppressed.
