Abstract
Results are presented for a deep (5 mJy) 6-cm survey of 145 close binary stars. Eleven stars were detected (including five not previously known to be radio binaries), and seven possibly detected (six of which were not previously suspected to be radio sources). The short-period (less than 1 day) binary UV Psc was detected, the first star of this period range found to be a radio binary. The discovery of a radio source in the system HD 216489 brings to two the number of long-period (periods exceeding 14 days) radio binaries. This relatively unbiased survey confirms that radio binaries later than A0 are predominantly of spectral classes G and K. In an HR diagram, the radio binaries tend to be significantly to the right of radio-quiet binaries.
