Abstract
ABSTRACT
Exchange relations between pharmacies and third-party payers have a pervasive impact on the practice of pharmacy. Researchers have tended to evaluate the success of pharmacy-third party relations solely from a financial perspective. In this study, we assessed three aspects of relationship success: efficiency, satisfaction, and adaptability. Also, we developed and tested hypotheses about associations between the success of relationships and the environment, economy, and polity of pharmacy-third party relations. The constructs in the political economy framework produced significant regression equations for all three components of relationship success.
