Abstract
Patients with ovarian cancer endorse somatic symptoms of depression at a significantly lower severity of depression than the general population at time of diagnosis, which reflects possible overdiagnosis of depression as a result of cancer‐related symptom burden. Differences are no longer present at 1 year posttreatment, when somatic items may be more appropriate for depression assessment in this population.
