Abstract
Compared 399 medical students with high and low scholastic ability as determined by premedical, freshman medical, or total course scores, with regard to their responses to a series of programed learning units on the basis of test performance, attitude, and time required. No differences in attitude toward programed learning or time required were detected. Immediate pre- and posttest scores were nearly the same for high and low groups. The high group did significantly better on delayed posttests, but the spread between high and low groups was less than for course material in general.
