Abstract
This study investigates U.S. college advanced Chinese learners' written vocabulary acquisition. It examines the levels of students' written vocabulary size & strength with reference to the amount of 8,500 high frequency word list, the relationship between the students' vocabulary size & strength, the distribution of students' known vocabulary in the word frequency span of 8,500 words, & the relationship between the students' written vocabulary acquisition & their Chinese learning background.
