Abstract
Co-crystallization of C-methylcalix[4]resorcinarene 1 with 4,4'-bipyridine 2 from ethanol in the presence of either an aromatic or a polycyclic guest yields a wave-like host-guest framework 3.guest {where 3 = 1.2(2), guest = p-chlorotoluene, adamantanone, [2.2]paracyclophane} in which 3 forms by way of guest template effects
