Abstract
This article demonstrates how to synthesise both algebraic and graphical representations of maximum and minimum problems with a dynamical software GeoGebra. Students can affirm their knowledge of algebraic and graphical representations of functions, derivative and local maximum and minimum problems throughout the investigation. This approach could be an alternate way to show the relationship between a function and its derivative without using the concept of limit.
