Abstract

Ionospheric conductance plays a key role in determining how the magnetospheric energy input is dissipated across the Ionosphere-Thermosphere system. In this paper, we detail how the magnetospheric particle precipitation affects the vertical structure of the ionospheric conductivity and provide recommendations to improve its modelling.
