Abstract
Diagnostic utilization of somatosensory evoked potentials has made much progress in recent years. Introduction of far-field or stationary field potentials has opened a new dimension but also added further complexity in understanding the physioanatomic mechanisms of nerve impulse propagation. Exploring further the anatomic, physiologic, and psychological substrates of somatosensory evoked potentials would enhance diagnostic utilities of the test.
