Abstract
Drawing upon more than 30 years of teaching experience, this discussion piece provides several tips for teaching contentious issues in International Relations courses. It focuses on establishing clear rules for engagement on the syllabus, teaching multiple perspectives, using fictional names in simulations, and using additional tools such as online discussions.
