Abstract

The Iowa Self-Assessment Inventory (ISAI) is a 56-item instrument designed to assess a number of functional characteristics of older adults, including economic resources, cognitive status, mobility, physical health, emotional balance, social support, and alienation. Discusses these translation issues, as well as administrative and interpretation concerns related to the use of the ISAI in cross-cultural research.
