Unraveling Gender Equality: Gender Equality Domain-Specific Analysis of Cross-National Female Homicide Victimization

Abstract
This study investigates the complex relationship between gender equality and female homicide victimization across nations, focusing on both the ameliorative and backlash approaches. By analyzing gender equality across multiple domains, including health, fertility, economic, education, labor, and politics, the research explores how advancements in equality impact female homicide victimization rates within nations. Findings reveal a curvilinear relationship, with initial increases in gender equality correlating with higher female homicide victimization rates, followed by a decline as equality continues to rise. This study highlights the nuanced effects of gender equality on female homicide victimization and underscores the importance of considering domain-specific impacts in future policy and research efforts.
