Abstract

In 2002, the State of Iowa introduced a policy mandating that first and second year teachers, like pre-service teachers, must demonstrate mastery of professional standards through a comprehensive sample of artifacts and performances. A collaborative effort involving a school district, a teachers' union, and a university customized the ePortfolio(TM) framework for use by early-career teachers.
