What Is Pathological in Dynamic Models of Psychopathology?

Abstract
As dynamic, intra-individual models of personality and personality pathology are developed, questions will be faced about how, exactly, to define the boundaries of psychopathology. Although many issues in this area are long-standing and well established, novel observational designs will undoubtedly compel renewed focus in the area, for practical as well as theoretical reasons. Addressing these questions is important not only for understanding the nature of personality function versus dysfunction but also for understanding how to model attributes within a temporally varying dynamic system.
