Abstract
The public health model serves as one potential organizing framework for workplace violence research and prevention efforts, enabling the incorporation of input from any number of professional approaches. Although a range of important work needs to be done, a great deal has been accomplished and learned. Existing information needs to be disseminated more fully and communicated to employees, employers, safety and health professionals, and policymakers.
