Abstract

We examine a method of studying the [Formula presented] polarization in [Formula presented] in proton-proton collisions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Included are the dominant contributions: gluon fusion production of the Higgs boson, continuum production of [Formula presented] pairs, and the [Formula presented]+missing jet QCD background. The polarization signal is distinguishable from the background for Higgs boson masses less than or equal to [Formula presented] GeV, for an integrated luminosity of [Formula presented] pb[Formula presented]. © 1997 The American Physical Society.
