Python code which is run via the Marimo platform to create an interactive educational tool designed to help students and instructors explore and visualize stellar evolution. It uses stellar evolution models generated with MESA to produce interactive plots of the internal structure and physical properties of stars throughout their evolution. Abstract

This project is an interactive educational tool designed to help students and instructors explore and visualize stellar evolution. It uses stellar evolution models to produce plots of the internal structure and physical properties of stars. The primary goal of the tool is to help visualize concepts learned in a stellar evolution course. Rather than providing a fixed collection of pre-selected figures, like those found in a textbook, this tool allows users to interactively generate their own plots by choosing the type of star, evolutionary stage, and physical property they want to explore. This interactivity makes it possible to generate a much larger number of visualizations than could reasonably be included in a textbook and allows users to explore specific questions and concepts that interest them. The tool is designed primarily as a supplemental resource for students taking a course on stars and stellar evolution. Students who have access to this tool while taking such a course could use it to visualize and explore concepts introduced in class. In addition, course instructors could use the tool to prepare visualizations to include in a future lecture.
