A conceptual framework and taxonomy for understanding and categorizing driver inattention
European Commission. Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content & Technology
2013
Abstract
Since 2009 DG CONNECT and the U.S. Department of Transportation are cooperating on research related to ICT for Transport. One of the joint working groups focuses on human machine interaction (HMI) and driver distraction. The group has now updated its report on inattention taxonomy which describes how driver behaviour and incident/accident analysis as well as design and evaluation of vehicle systems should be addressed – for the sake of better HMI and less distraction.
