This report presents a portion of the results of an evaluation of the Iowa Medicaid Managed Care program: the perceptions of enrollees in the various Medicaid health plans. The impact of the program on access to care and health status of enrolled children and adults was evaluated using surveys developed as part of the Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Study (CAHPS®), a national survey designed to provide uniformity to the evaluation of health plans. Additional questions were added to make the survey more useful to Iowa.
The surveys were conducted from October 2001 through February 2002. In this report, results for each question are also presented by health plan.
Data analysis and production of this report were completed by researchers at the University of Iowa Public Policy Center.
