This Vegetation Management Plan for Lake Macbride State Park (VMP) was developed under the guidance of the Johnson County Soil & Conservation District (JCSCD) by a group of students from the Graduate Program in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Iowa. This VMP establishes a step by step guide for the management and restoration of the diverse vegetative species currently present in the park. The purpose of this document is to develop a plan to help guide management and reconstruction efforts in the park for the next twenty years. Specifically, the main goals of the plan are to remove the invasive species present in the park , reconstruct native ecosystems, and establish demonstration areas that can be used as teaching tools. The goals and priorities were then used to develop and categorize recommendations.
