Abstract
Cardiology: An Illustrated Textbook is the latest edition of this comprehensive two volume textbook, including revised chapters with the latest advances in the field of cardiology. This edition is edited by professors from the Carver College of Medicine, Iowa, and the University of California, San Francisco.
This book is comprised of 120 chapters across fifteen sections. The first four sections cover basic cardiology, cardiovascular pharmacology, diagnosis, and electrophysiology. Subsequent sections cover groups of diseases and conditions, including vascular diseases, heart failure, myocardial and pericardial diseases, coronary heart diseases, valvular heart diseases, congenital heart disease, and secondary disorders of the heart. Each section incorporates new advances and step-by-step diagnosis and treatment.
The closing sections of the book cover current issues in cardiology, preventive strategies for various cardiac diseases, and a final section on ‘evolving concepts’, bringing this edition firmly up to date. Cardiology: An Illustrated Textbook is enhanced by 1600 full colour images and illustrations, many new to this edition, and an accompanying DVD.
