William the Conqueror, a medieval duke turned king, who capitalized his resources, took a massive risk and won England. Jeff Bezos a modern Princeton graduate who created Amazon. Using the historical definitions of entrepreneurship from the medieval period and economists Cantillon, Jean Baptiste-Say, John Stuart Mill, and Joseph Schumpeter, this paper will compare social status, personal and financial risk, innovation, capitalization of resources, and management style to identify if there are continuities between entrepreneurs separated by 1000 years.
