Abstract
We describe our efforts to associate a curvature-like invariant to contractive, normal, completely positive maps on semifinite factors. This work derives from investigations by Arveson, Kribs and Popescu, in which the curvatures of row contractions are analyzed, and from our study of tensor algebras.
