Abstract

The levels of polychlorinated biphenyls_PCBs) and hydroxylated polychlorinated biphenyls_OH-PCBs) in postmortem human brain tissues from Iowa were measured by GC-MS-MS_Triple Quad) in the multiple monitoring mode_MRM. Both PCBs and OH-PCBs_as MeO-PCBs) were determined with a GC-MS-MS equipped with an SPB-Octyl capillary column, and a subset of OH-PCB samples were reanalyzed with a GC-MS-MS_MRM) equipped with a DB1701 capillary column. This dataset includes the information about samples from individual donors, including age, gender, and the weight of tissued used for this study. The quality assurance and quality control_QA/QC) of data included limits of detections_LOD) of PCBs and OH-PCBs, recovery rates of PCB and OH-PCB surrogate standards_SS), and data of Reference Standard Materials_RSM 1957, NIST) analyzed in parallel with actual samples. Both the raw data_as ng) and the corresponding tissue wet weight-adjusted data_concentration of PCBs and OH-PCBs as pico-gram per gram) were included in this dataset. The neurotoxic equivalency quotients_NEQ) of PCB groups by homologs and ortho-chlorine numbers were also calculated and included based on the published NEQ factors with single and multiple mechanisms.
