Biography and Expertise
My research interest is in the area mechanism of airway innate immunity. Currently, my laboratory has been investigating the effects of ambient particulate matter impairment of airway antimicrobial activity. In addition, I am interested in developing strategies that will improve the airway antimicrobial activity, with the purpose of decreasing the risk of respiratory infections. Also, my laboratory is studying the mechanisms of lung injury and repair, with an especial emphasis on distal lung progenitor cells.
