Asih Asikin-Garmager

Asih Asikin-Garmager, Ph.D., is the associate director of the Center for Evaluation and Assessment (CEA). She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Iowa, specializing in Program Evaluation. She also has a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa. She has more than 10 years of experience evaluating programs in a variety of disciplines, in close collaboration with CEA colleagues, program stakeholders, and funding agencies. She regularly presents and publishes her evaluation work at national conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Before joining the University of Iowa, she taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in Indonesia, Costa Rica, and institutions of higher education in Iowa.
