This dataset includes the data from a study investigating how PCB52 affects microbial communities depending on the location in the (GI) gastrointestinal tract and the local profiles of PCB52 and its metabolites present in the GI tract following mucociliary clearance and biliary or intestinal excretion. Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed via nose-only inhalation 4 hours per day, 7 days per week, for 4 weeks to either filtered air or PCB52. Differences in the microbiome and levels of PCB52 and its metabolites were characterized throughout the GI tract Network analysis was performed to characterize interactions between individual PCB52 and its metabolites and specific bacterial abundances,

This dataset includes the data from a study investigating the effects of inhaled PCB52 on the adolescent brain. This study used adolescent Sprague-Dawley rats to determine the neurological effects of a subacute (28-day) PCB52 inhalation exposure. Rats were exposed 4 h a day for 28 consecutive days with neurobehavioral tests conducted during the last 5 days of exposure. Based on the data including body weight and tissue weights, PCB52 and metabolite levels (target and non-target analyses), gene expression in the striatum and cerebellum, and neurobehavioral tests [Y-maze, hole board test (HBT), open field test (OFT), and elevated plus maze (EPM)], brain immunohistochemistry images; a subacute inhalation of PCB52 results in multilevel effects of inhaled PCB52 on the rat brain, from gene expression to behavioral effects.

This dataset summarized a study of investigating the subacute neurotoxicity of a human-relevant metabolite, 2,2',5,5'-tetrachlorobiphenyl-4-ol (4-52), on male adolescent Sprague Dawley rats, via a novel polymeric implant drug delivery system grafted subcutaneously, at total loading concentrations ranging from 0, 1, 5, and 10% of the implant (w/w) for 28 days. 4-52 and other possible hydroxylated metabolites in serum and vital tissues were quantified using gas chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). The dataset contains 4-52 concentration in mass (ug) and percentage (%) in medium from in vitro release experiment, mass (ng) and concentration (ng/g tissue) of 4-52 and its metabolites in serum, lung, brain and liver, the body weight and tissue weight, the neurobehavioral testing data, the histopathology evaluation and images, and the QA/QC data.

Dataset for synthesis and characterization of Cabinet Mixture
Published 08/10/2022
A mixture containing three non-Aroclor PCB congeners detected in polymer resin from kitchen cabinets(Herkert et al., 2018) was prepared and authenticated using a PCB congener-specific gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) method (Li et al., 2018). The mass percentages of the three PCB congeners, 2,2',4,4'-tetrachlorobiphenyl (PCB 47), 2,2',4,6'-tetrachlorobiphenyl (PCB 51), and 2,3',4,5'-tetrachlorobiphenyl (PCB 68), in this Cabinet Mixture were 75%, 17% and 8% by weight, respectively. The dataset contains the raw GC-MS/MS data and the PCB congener profiles of PCB 47, PCB 51, PCB 68, and the synthetic Cabinet Mixture.
